Malaysiakini goes free for state elections

Keeping with tradition, Malaysiakini will provide free access to its articles starting tomorrow (July 29) until Aug 13. We hope this will contribute to voters making an informed choice in the state elections.

The free access will commence at 12.01am tomorrow until 11.59pm on Aug 13.

To read Malaysiakini articles, non-subscribers are required to register their e-mail addresses. For Malaysiakini subscribers, an extra 14 days will be added to their existing subscriptions.

Since its inception in 1999, Malaysiakini has weathered numerous storms in telling truth to power and ensuring good governance. We could not have done this without your generous support.

In 2002, Malaysiakini adopted a subscription model to be self-sustainable and to safeguard its editorial independence.

Subscribers only need to pay RM200 a year or 55 sen a day to be able to read our articles.
