Happy New Year from Malaysiakini

The past 12 months have seen relative political stability compared to the first few years of the new decade.

But it hasn't always been smooth sailing, and we aren't out of stormy seas yet as we enter 2024.

From all of us at Malaysiakini, we wish everyone - our readers especially - a very happy new year.

May 2024 be the year we see more reforms as many had hoped for when the new government took power, as well as peace and harmony for all.

Over the past 24 years, it has been our privilege and pleasure to share the Malaysian journey and yet another year of building a better tomorrow for our future generations.

We are working with a skeleton staff today, recharging our batteries before returning to the fray.
