Court fines civil servant RM30k for abusing position

The Ayer Keroh Sessions Court in Malacca today fined an assistant environmental health officer RM30,000 for abusing his position by appointing his younger brother’s company as the supplier for nine supply works in 2018.

Judge Elesabet Paya Wan handed down the sentence on Ab Hanif Ab Hamid, 43, after he changed his plea to guilty for three out of the nine alternative charges during today’s proceedings.
