Auditor defends reinstating Samling's cert, says locals refused to engage

Samling Group’s sustainable timber certification was reinstated after corrective measures put in place by the timber giant were found to be sufficient, auditor Sirim QAS International said.
Its audit found the timber company had made its best effort, despite “refusal” by some community members to engage, said Md Adha Rahmat, senior general manager of Sirim QAS International’s Management System Certification Department.
