Chief sec: Fewer graft convictions among civil servants since pandemic

In expressing disagreement with the popular view that corruption is rife in the civil service, Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali has cited the waning number of civil servants convicted in corruption cases since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He reportedly said there were only 74 convictions in corruption cases involving civil servants in 2020, and this number fell to 70 in 2021, plunging further to 21 in 2022.
