Foreign Ministry: Majority of alleged trafficking cases tied to fraud operations
About 90 percent of Malaysians who claimed to be victims of human trafficking were found not to be actual victims but rather involved in international fraud syndicates.
Deputy Foreign Minister Mohamad Alamin said the Royal Malaysia Police revealed this in their human trafficking report presented at the Council for Anti-Trafficking In Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants meeting on Feb 26.
